Amazon, the world’s largest e-commerce platform, said that it will organize the third edition of Small Business Day 2020 on June 27. The event will be attended by producers, startups, craftsmen and weavers influenced by Kovid-19. The event will encourage buyers to find and buy unique and rare products offered by small businesses and micro-entrepreneurs. Customers will have the chance to assist small businesses, local employment and the economy.
Various applications of Amazon-like Local Shops, Amazon Launchpad, Amazon Saheli and Amazon Artisan will help customers to buy new and unique. Products like home essentials, regional weaving in fashion, handicrafts and footwear, wall decorations and hangings, sculptures and images, kitchenware, and sports essentials. Gopal Pillai, Vice President (Cellar Services), Amazon India, said, SMBs are the backbone of the Indian economy, making the most unique selection of products. The business was on a continuous growth momentum until Kovid-19 interrupted it. He said we are committed to supporting them and helping to generate customer demand for their products. Pillai said, therefore, this year Amazon is organizing Small Business Day on 27th June with many themes.
He said that customers will be able to discover some better gems from these theme stores while empowering millions across the country through their purchase on Small Business Day. Amazon said, During the second edition of Small Business Day in December last year, more than 1200 vendors saw the highest sales in a single day. Amazon said, such artisans and weavers who were part of Amazon’s artisan program, after this, Amazon saw an increase of 2.5 times. However, women entrepreneurs selling as part of the ‘Amazon Saheli’ program saw a 1.7-fold rise.
