The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has posted a note to the Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar asking him to exact a ban on the 13th season of the reality TV show Bigg Boss on grounds of indecency. ”
- We request your kind and urgent consideration towards telecasting of TV show Bigg Boss on Colors TV channel which is dispensing high level of discourtesy to the amount that is hard to watch the channel in a homely environment and our country’s old classical and cultural preferences are being embarrassed in the desire of TRP and values which cannot be permitted in a diverse nature of country like India,” read the message.
- “The idea of ‘Bed Friend Forever’ is highly unsatisfactory and is against all moral ethics of the television world. The creators of the show have ignored that it is the prime time slot on TV when this show is telecast and people of all age groups view the show. The current program has passed all borders of values,” it continued.
- Questioned about the problem, CAIT Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal told IANS: “Each episode should be properly viewed by the Censor Board.
- What is appearing in the show is untrue. It displays hard to relax and watch the program with the family. We will start our demands to Mr Javadekar.”
