Make in India: Permission for commercial production of Mylab’s Corona Virus Test Kit.
Pune’s MyLab Discovery Solutions, which manufactures disease detection solutions, got commercial production permission on Monday for its Kovid-19 (Corona Virus) test kit. It is the first company in the country to get such permission. The company said in a statement that its ‘Mylab Pathodetect Kovid-19 Qualitative PCR Kit’, which examines the coronavirus, has received commercial production permission from the Central Pharmaceutical Standards Control Organization (CDSco).
Managing Director of the company Hasmukh Rawal said, “Emphasizing the cooperation from local and central government and ‘Make in India’, it has prepared a kit to test the Kovid-19”. It has been developed in line with the guidelines of the World Health Organization and the US Centres for Disease Control (CDC).
The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has, meanwhile, given a green signal to 16 private laboratories across the country to conduct Covid-19 testing in India.
The apex medical research body has also issued guidelines for private laboratories by capping the test rates.
