Cricket returns to India

In July this year, the Indian cricket team will perform a practice match (India vs India A) against their own ‘A’ team in Nottinghamshire, before the five-match Test series against England (India Tour of England). The Indian team has to play a five-Test series in England and August in September. The first match of this series will be played in Nottingham from 4 August.

Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club said in a statement, “This summer you will be seen playing some of the best international cricketers in the world on the county ground. Then we will welcome India and Bharat A. “The second Test (12–16 August) and the fourth Test (2–6 September) will be played in London, while the third Test (25–29 August) will be played in Leeds and the fifth Test (10–14 September) in Manchester.

The last two Test matches of the series will be played in Ahmedabad from 24 February. This series is to be played in a bio-safe environment, which is also important from the point of view of the World Test Championship. A full schedule of India vs England series:

4 Matches Test Series

  • First Test – 5 February to 9 February – MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai – 9.30 am according to Indian.
  • Second Test – 13 February to 17 February – MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai – 9.30 am according to Indian.
  • Third Test – 24 February to 28 February – Sardar Patel Stadium, Ahmedabad – 2 pm Indian time.
  • Fourth Test – March 4 to March 8 – Sardar Patel Stadium, Ahmedabad – 9.30 am Indian time.

5 Matches T20 Series

  • First T20 – March 12 – Sardar Patel Stadium, Ahmedabad – 6.00 pm Indian time.
  • Second T20 – 14 March – Sardar Patel Stadium, Ahmedabad – 6.00 pm Indian time.
  • Third T20 – March 16 – Sardar Patel Stadium, Ahmedabad – 6.00 pm Indian time.
  • Fourth T20 – March 18 – Sardar Patel Stadium, Ahmedabad – 6.00 pm Indian time.
  • Fifth T20 – 20 March – Sardar Patel Stadium, Ahmedabad – 6.00 pm Indian time.

3 Matches ODI Series

  • First ODI – 23 March – Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune – 2.30 pm Indian time.
  • Second ODI – 26 March – Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune – 2.30 pm Indian time.
  • Third ODI – March 28 – Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune – 9.30 am Indian time.

The first match of the four-Test series between India and England will be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai from 5 February. Five pitches with ‘fair amount of grass’ have been prepared at Chepak Stadium. The Indian team management will select one of these pitches before the match and after that, it will be decided how much grass to leave on the pitch. There has not been a match in this stadium since the lockdown in March last year. Everyone’s eyes are on how the pitch will behave.
