Star batsman Jos Buttler believes that the 2012 squad led by Alister Cook will remain one of the best teams in England and the current team led by Root is getting closer to him. The current captain Root made his debut in the last Test in Nagpur in the 2012 series. Butler said at the online press conference on Saturday, ‘Joe made his debut on that tour and has good memories and lessons that made us successful. She was one of the best teams in England, a great player. Butler said, ‘This team is on a different stage in terms of travel but is definitely moving towards that point. An exciting time to accept the challenge against the best team in the world on their soil. The 2012 series is known for the bowling of Graeme Swann and Monty Panesar, and the magnificent innings of 186 run by Kevin Pietersen in Mumbai.

A score of 350 in the first innings is considered good for England’s pace bowling conditions, but Butler said that his current team with the presence of some young players will have to understand that a good score in India can be more than 600 runs…

Butler to build 600-650 in India

Jose Butler said, ‘This is to adjust to the situation and play accordingly. England’s ball seams and swings. For example, the score of 300 runs in the first innings can be big and if you are playing in India, then we play on the first two days on a great batting wicket, a good score can be up to 600-650. Butler believes that every member of the team should follow the route in Sri Lanka where he showed how to make big innings.

Butler said, “The route is an example of this and he did it for us in Sri Lanka, hit a double century and scored 180 runs.” He showed that we have to take advantage of the situation and make a big score. Butler recalled how India scored thanks to good scores in the first innings in the 2016 series. He said, ‘When we played here four-five years ago in Chennai, we had scored 470 runs and India scored 700 runs due to Karun Nair’s 300 runs. So it is a great education that what is the first big innings in India and what should be the mentality for it.
