Storyline… Rajinikanth is added as Aditya Arunachalam, a dreaded cop who has selected the Mumbai police chief and tasked with a very specific purpose: dismissal of the city’s drug mafia.
Even before the hero’s introduction scene, which is a huge letdown, the audience is treated to news footage about an encounter specialist who shoots before he talks.
For Rajini followers, that is a moderately good deal. The film drops no opportunity for uncertainty in their minds. They know precisely what to expect from Darbar and the superstar they can never have enough.
Suni Shetty Character
Hari Chopra (Suniel Shetty), the drug web expert, returns to India 27 years after a bold step of his left the Mumbai Police red-faced. He is out to settle rates with Arunachalam and his daughter Valli (Nivetha Thomas). The rest of the film is dedicated to the hero’s brave actions pointed at breaking Chopra’s crime union.
Everything that Rajini does in Darbar is targeted at his fans. While the star appears not to miss a plot, Murugadoss makes the illusion of not going enough on the screenplay.
Darbar, delivered in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, is out-and-out pulp meant surely for Rajinikanth followers.
