President Trump Second day in India

Donald Trump states “There was focus on having extensive trade agreement” after meeting with PM Modi.

Our business ministers have had actual talks on trade. Both of us have concluded that our teams should give legal shape to these trade talks. We also agreed to open negotiations on a big trade deal,” said PM Modi.

The leaders said that the countries have decided to enhance the energy partnership as well. 

The Prime Minister said that the two countries have agreed on a new mechanism to contain drug trafficking. He also said that both India and the US have decided to enhance efforts to hold supporters of terrorism accountable.

The first lady of the US Melania Trump visited the Sarvodaya Co-Ed Senior Secondary school in Nanakpura, Delhi. She spent about an hour at the school and witnessed a ‘happiness class’. The FLOTUS also interacted with the students and teachers at the school in South Moti Bagh.

Melania Trump was welcomed by students with flowers. They also waved the Indian and American flags as they greeted her. She was welcomed with an arti and was given a tilak. A young student gave the First Lady a bouquet to welcome her. The school also underwent beautification work ahead of the US First Lady’s visit.

Mr Trump and First Lady Melania Trump paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi at his memorial at Rajghat, laying a wreath shortly after a ceremonial reception at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The US President signed the visitor’s book, writing, “America (n) people stand strongly with a sovereign and wonderful India – the vision of the great Mahatma Gandhi – This is a tremendous honour!”
