Talking at the launch, Guenter Butschek, CEO & MD, Tata Motors stated, “We are proud to introduce this state-of-art technology brand – ZIPTRON, which has been produced in-house while using our global manufacturing network.
At the core of our future EV line-up, this technology will present a breathtaking driving experience to our consumers wanting to go-green. Rigorously tested across 1 million km, ZIPTRON technology is well-proven, superior and stable. With this technology, we expect to receive in a new loop of eMobility in India and stimulate faster adoption of EVs, promoting the Government’s vision.”
It will source energy from high-level lithium-ion cells which will give a driving reach of 250 km on a single charge. The battery set will also be liquid-cooled and will be packed in a solid IP67 chamber which accommodates high-intensity exterior shell to protect critical EV components. The company also announces that the Battery Management System (BMS) has been planned for an extended battery life of up to eight years with a steady introduction. Addressing the powertrain, it is a constant magnet AC machine with regenerative braking which requires the battery on the drive. The powertrain also gets a dedicated cooling path to perform steady performance in hot weather situations.
