Chinese video-sharing and social networking app TikTok will grant Rs 100 crore medical equipment for doctors and medical staff in India amid Corona epidemic. According to the TikTok newsroom, it will consist of 400,000 hazmat suits (protective suits) and 200,000 masks.
The social network service states that it is working with the Ministry of Textiles to provide this equipment to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. It has also been said in the post that in the coming time the company is ready to help the government by donating.
TikTok has said in a statement the importance of doctors and medical staff at the time of the corona epidemic. The company has said that they are most at risk from the virus and they are more likely to be exposed. For their safety, we are donating 400,000 Hazmat Medical Protective Suits to the Government of India.
TikTok has also donated 200,000 masks for local and state-level medical workers to the government of Delhi and Maharashtra. The company has said, “As a responsible organization committed to the protection of citizens in India, we will also come forward in the coming years through additional donations.”
