Women’s T20 World Cup

Indian women’s cricket team skipper Harmanpreet Kaur can skip the Women’s T20 World Cup semifinal encounter against Australia due to sickness, according to quotations. All-rounder Pooja Vastrakar will not play the match due to upper respiratory tract condition. India qualified for the knockout stages of the competition with six points from four matches. While the Harmanpreet-led side was able to beat Pakistan, West Indies and Ireland, their only defeat came against England. 

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah will accompany the Women’s T20I World Cup semi-final match between India and Australia on Thursday to boost his backing to the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side. India will take on unbeaten Australia on Thursday in the Women’s T20I World Cup semi-final match at the Newlands in Cape Town.
